By the end of this course, students will be able
- To understand and interpret public communication processes
- To develop inventional, organizational, and expressive skills
- To develop understanding and acceptance of communication ethics
- To articulate the functions of power, identity, and positionality as constitutive of communication
- To develop critical skills appropriate for responsible receivership of messages
- To gain understanding of relationships between self, message, and others in public communication interactions
- To embody/enact communication behaviors that reflect each of the goals listed above
