Note: This course does not require specialized knowledge. You'll be introduced to inbound marketing and a CRM platform. Like any 400-level course, the main criteria for success is quality writing and critical thinking skills.

This course is open to Distance Education students who are at least Junior or Senior status; Instructor Permission required to ensure these students have the background needed to succeed in course.
DE students MUST be available to meet during the scheduled Tuesday and Thursday live class meeting times (3:35-4:50, p.m. CST).
We will use Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams in this classroom to ensure that you are able to engage with your classmates during the regular class times.

Study of communication practices in business, professional, and organization settings and the effects of communication strategies on interpersonal and organizational relationships within and outside of the organization. Considers the relevance of communication training and development on management operations, organizational culture, employee morale, networks, superior subordinate relations, production, and organizational climates. Individual research into selected aspects of organizational communication and talent development. Students may repeat enrollment in the course, as the topic varies.

This course uses problem-based learning, scenario-based teaching, and gameful learning to help students develop skills needed to succeed in the contemporary organization. The goal is to offer competency-based learning of tangible and useful skills outcomes.
Currently the courses uses HubSpot Academy, which enables students to learn in-bound marketing and sales strategy while obtaining industry-recognized certification.

- present to regionally dispersed audience using webinar technology
- identify the stages in an existing sales process
- identify, re-structure and formalize stages in a suboptimal process

- field objections and uncover the root of prospect concerns
- execute an effective closing call
- implement HubSpot CRM to facilitate a sales process
