By the end of this course, students will
- gain knowledge of the key concepts, theories, and research methods relevant to understanding communication in organizational contexts.
- develop a historically-situated understanding of contemporary organizational practices.
- gain increased awareness and sensitivity to their own communication behavior and strategies in small group and organizational interactions.
- gain the foundational knowledge necessary to begin assessing organizational structures and practices in order to improve human communication and relationships within and between organizations.
Textbooks
No textbooks are required; however, I recommend The Business Writer's Handbook.
