I am studying Item 1.6. This covers the skill of compliance and ethical behavior.

These notes are a little less thorough today; not because I do not think the topic is important but because I just did not have much time to study. Hopefully more to come.

This is part of the Building Personal Capability category

These are notes, so expect typos.

Today I am studying Item 1.3B - Knowledge of conflict management techniques, which is part of Collaboration and Leadership in the Building Personal Capability category

These are notes, so expect typoz.

Generally speaking, I think the ATD BoK is going to be the go-to resource on this one. Has very useful and applicable in formation. I have thrown in a few other items from resources in the Conflict and Communication course I teach, which I think may be useful.

Today, I'm reviewing the following topic/skill statement from the Content Outline:

1.3 Collaboration & Leadership ...
... the three knowledge/skills statements listed in the content outline are

  • 1.3.A Knowledge of theories, methods, and techniques to build and manage professional relationships, for
example group dynamics, teamwork, shared experience, and negotiation.
  • 1.3.B Knowledge of conflict management techniques.
  • 1.3.C Knowledge of theories of leadership, for example transformational, inclusive, and situational.

For some reason, I see A & C going together, so I will cover 1.3B in tomorrow's post.

These are notes! Typos assured.

Context

I am a freelance consultant (career development and communication training) and university professor (business communication). I am also trying to generate content useful to my YouTube followers on my challenge Crafting Communication Competence. So keep this in mind as you use these resources. These may not be as valuable to some of you with experience in corporate training venues.

The Plan

I'll likely be studying a lot more than may be represented here, but I plan to post useful notes and resources here over the next 8 weeks, starting June 22nd until August 16th, which is 56 days. The plan is to post a video along with these notes, but that may be too ambitious.
Building Personal Capability
This is 20% of the exam, so I will cover this to July 3rd.

Developing Professional Capability
This is 45% of the exam, so I will cover this from July 4th to July 28th

Impacting Organizational Capability
This is 35% of the exam, so I will cover this until Friday, July 28th to August 16th.
