Covering Two Skills
Two areas covered:
These are notes, expect typos.
3.1.B Skill in managing budgets and resources.
This section is very short in the TDBoK. There is not much guidance other than
Today I am studying:
3.1.A Skill in creating business cases for talent development initiatives using economic, financial, and organizational data.
The key takeaway from the TDBoK is a communication strategy that effectively creates buy-in.
Today, after having some technology challenges (down WiFI), I decided to order the print version of the TD BoK.
The e-version of the TD BoK is very engaging and interactive. After studying over a month with it, I decided that a print version might be more useful.
As an academic, I process information better in print form. Although I didn't want to spend another $100, I think it is worth it. I studied for the APTD with a print version of the book, so I think this will be a useful way to study.
I also read these two articles, which are not immediately applicable but interesting:
Another area I need to better understand is evaluation technique. Here are some additional articles that I reviewed.

At this point in the leaning process I have covered the knowledge and skills statements for two capabilities. I believe in taking breaks. I will be on a vacation from learning until 7/23. I will then return to studying this content by reviewing the first two capabilities until 7/28, when I will shift to the third capability.
I will post notes from 7-23 to 7/28, which will include articles I am reading for prep and some review of content already posted.
