  • Coach managers and hold them accountable for their employees' engagement.

  • Use ongoing measures. 
Measure and Track Employees
  • Use an ROI Methodology
Strategies to increase engagement:
  • adjustments in job descriptions and responsibilities
  • a revision of the definition of engagement
  • formal training with employees and plant managers
  • sharing cost data with employees
  • brainstorming sessions with employees to generate cost-saving ideas
  • routine meetings with employees to discuss actions
  • a gainsharing program that shared half the cost savings with employees.
