Meggie Mapes is a faculty member and Introductory Course Director in the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Kansas. As a scholar, her research focuses on critical pedagogy, cultural studies, and feminism. Her work has appeared in Communication Education, Communication and Critical/Cultural Studies, Communication Teacher, QED: A Journal of GLBTQ Worldmaking, and more. She has presented with the Open Education Network since 2019 and is the author of the open textbook, Speak Out, Call In: Public Speaking as Advocacy.
